HI BB team,
Is there any way we can delete or hide the "comment" column in BB's tool chest. It is not used in our company and takes up needed space when taking off the plans.
MDT, I hear what you are saying, but I have never found a way to hide it. But let's dig a little deeper into what you are trying to do or could possibly do. It is easy to Hide the Comments column in the Toolset by simply dragging the grip across to provide more display area real estate or drag the Comments column closer to the display area. But that then hides the Lable column. I assume you have a need for the Lable column.
If you do not need a Label, that is a simple fix to give the Subject more space and fewer Comments information, but not removed.
Now, let's dig into why you are not using the Comments column. I come from a CAD Management background, so if I can communicate easily with end-users without walking over or jumping on Teams, I will take advantage of that function. In Toolsets, I use the Comments column to describe how to use the Markup in the Toolset. Does everyone read it, It's probably not, but it's there and reduced the number of times they asked me, 'How does this work.'
Good luck with your Toolset.
Good morning, since this issue shows up in multiple posts and I agree with them I would like to add further explanation below.
When performing a take off you want to maximize the plan sheet space you are viewing. Currently if you drag the "grip" to narrow the tool chest display area it slides the comment and label columns with it until they reach their minimum width and then it starts to overlap the subject area leaving your subject area to only +/- 8-12 characters. Then if you go to expand the grip to reveal more characters it first unveils the comment and label columns and by the time the subject column grows in width you've now lost a good section of your entire screen. The two fixes would be 1. ability to hide columns 2. when you drag the grip have it start to cover the label comment columns immediately.
Agreed! Thanks for detailing this issue. the comment column takes up so much real-estate and its pretty much useless.
Actually, I take that back, well at least some of it. I just checked and you can now HIDE the Comment section.
and just slide the column over, and now its GONE:
I also see that you can pretty much hide all columns you want, so this issue is FIXED!
I'm at the latest update, my columns do not collapse as far as you're showing
This remains the narrowest in my case…
I see there was an update 6/6/25, but it seems it is not applied to older versions. I cannot fully hide the column and it is very frustrating to repeatedly minimize as much as I can every time I open tools.
I let my subscription lapse, uninstalled REVU, got a new opportunity and resubscribed. Installed new REVU package but when it starts it seems to be looking at the old, lapsed subscription. I can see the new subscription in Webstore but haven't found a way to get REVU to drop the old serial number and pickup the new one.…
Hi, I’ve just signed up for a 14-day trial. I received the confirmation email saying “Your trial has started” and Bluebeam Cloud works fine. However, in Revu 21 desktop it still shows Package: Unassigned and only opens in Viewer mode. Here’s what I’ve tried so far: Signed in with my BBID (the same email that received the…
Hi everyone, I’m hoping to get some clarity on managing permissions in Bluebeam Studio Sessions. Specifically, I’ve noticed that while attendees get default permissions like Save As, Markup, and Add Documents, Print isn’t included by default and has to be manually enabled for each user in every session. With the number of…
Hi everyone, We’re currently using Intune-managed iPads for our Engineers, locked down as “Bluebeam iPads.” This setup works well for us, but with the recent announcement that Revu is being discontinued, we’re concerned about functionality moving forward. One of the key requirements for us is the ability to print PDFs on…
Hey all, I understand the new Bluebeam Cloud app on iPadOS is being constantly improved, but is there going to be a way to open a marked up pdf from third parties like Microsoft One Drive? Are you guys looking into giving users the ability to turn on/off layers? I do layouts for the electrical installations on my projects…
Hello everyone, I work in the telecommunications field and frequently provide plan markups for various roadway projects. These plans often come in a wide range of scales—from 1" = 20' to 1" = 100'. I’m wondering if there’s a way to copy markups from a plan with one scale (e.g., 1" = 40') and paste them into another plan…
My team primarily uses custom objects for their take offs, we've set up tool boxes with all of our common size options. What we run into is when doing a large take off layout the objects handles will fully overlap other objects and make to where we cannot select objects and delete or manipulate them, or we'll grab an…
BlueBeam Community I just transitioned to a new Fire & Life Safety company in the recent days. By any chance, would anyone be willing to share fire alarm set for my tool chest on BlueBeam? Or provide me with a good site to download a few good fire alarm tool chests.
The last couple of weeks I have had a problem. When I click on a Session it starts to load it and then kicks me out of the Session and gives me this exact same message: After I select OK I can re-enter the Session I was trying to review without an issue. This happens every time I enter a Session that I was not in recently…
Since upgrading to 21.6.1, it seems I have to rearrange order of the tabs on each BB OPEN. I commonly start with about half a dozen tabs open for a couple of most active projects. I like to have them in order of Project 1 Specs, Project 1 CA Set, Project 1 Revisions, Project 2 Specs, Project 2 CA Set, Project 2 Revisions.…
