I have been using bluebeam for a long time and it is great, but does have one big shortcoming regarding the way counts are setup and performed. I would ideally like to see a project based count legend that can easily be created and updated/copied for specific project needs.
I am a plumbing and HVAC estimator and the HVAC/plumbing equipment and fixture tags often change by project. I currently find it time consuming and inefficient to perform and label counts using current tool chest items and edit them as you go along.
My suggestion is to make project based legend where you can have an equipment tag, description, or label for each schedule item you need to count then easily select corresponding colors, sizes and shapes for each item you are counting. Then you would just select these items from project specific tool chest for counts much like you do now. For me setting that all up ahead of time and just being able to select and count will save me a lot of time. Formatting could be something like below.
