Layer inheritance for markups
I work with layers a lot, and have a set of tools for this purpose. Most of them have been assigned a layer before entering, and some have no layer assigned, so they appear on the markup layer. However, this does not seem to work that well. First of all, I am "unable" to remove the layer information from a tool in the tool chest. Specifically a polygon tool. If I edit the layer information and just deletes the layer name and presses enter, I get an error prompt saying, that the layer information cannot be empty. However, if I then just cancels, the layer is in fact empty. It mostly works, but I often experience that the tool suddenly adopts the layer that is currently the markup layer, seemingly completely un-aggravated and without any pattern I have been able to deduce. It apparently does not matter if the chest is locked or open. It is beginning to get on my nerves, as I constantly have to check whether or not my tool have adopted the layer or not, as I get no warning what so ever. If I change the markup layer and the tool have adopted a previous markup layer, it just remains with the old one. It has amounted to numerous errors that are very time consuming to correct.
