HI BB team,
Is there any way we can delete or hide the "comment" column in BB's tool chest. It is not used in our company and takes up needed space when taking off the plans.
MDT, I hear what you are saying, but I have never found a way to hide it. But let's dig a little deeper into what you are trying to do or could possibly do. It is easy to Hide the Comments column in the Toolset by simply dragging the grip across to provide more display area real estate or drag the Comments column closer to the display area. But that then hides the Lable column. I assume you have a need for the Lable column.
If you do not need a Label, that is a simple fix to give the Subject more space and fewer Comments information, but not removed.
Now, let's dig into why you are not using the Comments column. I come from a CAD Management background, so if I can communicate easily with end-users without walking over or jumping on Teams, I will take advantage of that function. In Toolsets, I use the Comments column to describe how to use the Markup in the Toolset. Does everyone read it, It's probably not, but it's there and reduced the number of times they asked me, 'How does this work.'
Good luck with your Toolset.
Good morning, since this issue shows up in multiple posts and I agree with them I would like to add further explanation below.
When performing a take off you want to maximize the plan sheet space you are viewing. Currently if you drag the "grip" to narrow the tool chest display area it slides the comment and label columns with it until they reach their minimum width and then it starts to overlap the subject area leaving your subject area to only +/- 8-12 characters. Then if you go to expand the grip to reveal more characters it first unveils the comment and label columns and by the time the subject column grows in width you've now lost a good section of your entire screen. The two fixes would be 1. ability to hide columns 2. when you drag the grip have it start to cover the label comment columns immediately.
Agreed! Thanks for detailing this issue. the comment column takes up so much real-estate and its pretty much useless.
Actually, I take that back, well at least some of it. I just checked and you can now HIDE the Comment section.
and just slide the column over, and now its GONE:
I also see that you can pretty much hide all columns you want, so this issue is FIXED!
I'm at the latest update, my columns do not collapse as far as you're showing
This remains the narrowest in my case…
I see there was an update 6/6/25, but it seems it is not applied to older versions. I cannot fully hide the column and it is very frustrating to repeatedly minimize as much as I can every time I open tools.
Since the update to Bluebeam Revu 21, the preview line (rubber-band) shown while drawing polygons and polylines has become significantly thicker. This makes it difficult to see the underlying vector data and snap points during the drawing process. We have received numerous reports from users stating that this change hinders…
I have a client who is trying to mark up a set but is running into a situation where they can't add markups after a specific page. The prior pages are fine, but past the specific page they can't add any more. They are the only user who is having this issue, and I haven't been able to find a solution. Have I missed a…
Hi, support for PDF/A and all the different versions 1,2,3, a,b,u is not very common among all the different pdf-software out there. However all the more important is to have a good implementation and support for PDF/A in our best pdf-software Bluebeam-Revu and we actually need it very urgently. But PDF/A is just…
Hi, I am allowed to join the Bluebeam max beta and I am about to and I am willinig to do so. So we were told to just download an install Bluebeam Revu 21.8. I am confused, how to tell I have the beta version? in other words, if I do not have the beta version, how to download it? maybe I missed the point completely. What is…
If I put text on a page (text box or typewriter) and then use the Edit Action command to make a jump to another page, it will put a lightning bolt under the bottom right corner of the text box. Is there a way to make the lightning bolt to the right of the text? I have issues when I have the text in a list format the…
It seems sometime in Dec 2025 the invites sent out from the BB Session no longer has the name of the document in the session invite. We use to see "You've been invited to Studio Session (name of session)" all we now see is "You've been invited to Studio Session" the name is no longer shown. Is this a preference? or has…
I use it a lot and would like to have it open at all times for quicker access. Even a keyboard shortcut would be nice, if there is one, please let me know. Thanks in advance, -Wes s
We generate PDF draft reports that are reviewed and marked up with traditional clouds, highlights and text boxes. The reviewer compares marked up Draft #1 to the updated Draft #2. Normally, the reviewer would split the view and use synchronize views between the documents. Does Bluebeam Revu have a system where it checks…
