I can't add layers to devices in the tool chest.I right-click on the device and choose to enter a layer, but the next time I right-click, the layer is gone. What am I doing wrong?
I figured it out..
In preferences I had to check "keep layer info when copying selections" Then I saved the layer info on the selections
Not sure, when doing high volume markups, layers can get moved around a lot especially if you change the layer while the tool is selected instead of applying a different one after applying the tool. Here is a way to help resolve when it happens but not necessarily a way to mitigate it.
To help track this, i change my columns in tool chest at the top. so you can click Tool Chest → Manage tool chest columns, and it takes you to this screen:
So now, you can check to display and search by layer so you can see where your layers are wrong and apply them much faster. you can also search your tool chest
