I’m trying to determine whether I’m encountering a limitation in Bluebeam iOS 1.31 or if there is a different workflow I should be using.
In Revu Desktop, I created custom Count tools with unique Subjects, Labels, colors/symbols, and other properties. I saved them to a Tool Set, exported the .btx file, and imported that Tool Set into Bluebeam on my iPad.
The tools appear correctly on the iPad, and I can use them to perform Counts within a Studio Session. However, when I open the same Session in Revu Desktop, the markups are recognized as Count measurements and the quantities are correct, but the tool metadata is lost. The Subject and Label are missing/generic, custom properties are not populated, and in some cases the original color is not preserved.
I have also tried creating new Tool Sets and simplifying the Count tools, but I’m seeing the same behavior.
My goal is to perform field takeoffs on the iPad using predefined Count tools and have each Count retain its identity and properties when synchronized back to Revu Desktop so I can use the Markups List, Legends, filters, and exports without manually recategorizing every Count.
Has anyone successfully achieved this with iOS 1.31? Is there a specific way Count tools need to be created/exported in Revu for Subject, Label, color, and other metadata to survive the iPad → Studio Session → Revu Desktop workflow? Or are these properties currently not supported when placing imported Count tools from the iOS app?
I’d also be interested in any alternative Bluebeam workflow that allows fast field counting on an iPad while preserving the item/category information in Revu Desktop.
