Currently, viewports can only be removed from a file if it is not part of a studio session. However, we use an integration (with the Tyler EPL permitting system) that begins sessions for us, so we need the ability to remove viewports from within the session if they were not removed beforehand. Currently we have to download the file, remove the viewports, re-upload the file, and then launch the integration. This defeats the purpose of paying for an expensive integration.
If a session is started and the file has many viewports on it, then the measurements tools on that file within the session are not usable:
We already communicate with the applicants that they should ensure their files do not have viewports in them, but these are members of the public (contractors, developers, architects, residents) and many have reported that it is impossible to tell if AutoCAD had embedded them or not (apparently they can still get included even if you tell AutoCAD not to).
We have also requested of Tyler that they remove viewports as a step of the integration that starts the session and have learned that that part of the integration is built and managed by Bluebeam.
Alternatively, the ability for the session owner to remove viewports even if the session is already started would resolve this issue.
