Session file added offline with same name as file added by others online

Recently, I added a file to a session while offline and started making comments in it. Unknown to me, someone added the same file with the same file name to the session while I was offline. When I went back online, there was an error message that said it was not possible to have two files with the same name in a session and then it opened the file from the online session.

Ideally, BB would have asked me to save or export my offline comments or move them over to the online file. But as far as I can tell, all of the comments I made in the offline version of the file have disappeared.

Is there a way to recover these?

If you have re-opened the session offline, and the document recovery panel did not show then, I am afraid your changes lost in cyberspace.

I have seen documents come up in the recovery panel several times, but they were stand-alone PDFs that I was using when something locked up or crashed.

It is apparently different with offline sessions, as the autosave function would also be offline.

Great lesson though! If ever working in an offline session like that, your post indicates that any files added offline should have a modified name… like filenameOFL.pdf (for offline) or initials, or something else that would allow the changed to be merged if another team member adds the same file.

markups cant be moved
