text box tool with added leader

We have callout tool set up with certain size of leader. Sometimes, I started with text box tool and need to add a leader later. The default leader size shows quite big. The font size is actually the same, just callout tool setting is 50% of the font size while the text box setting is auto. I can fix it. But I want to set it as default so I do not need to manually fix the leader every time. It just won't stay. Any solutions? Thank you.

Try this, I believe it will work for you. Since a text box without a leader does not have an option to modify the leader settings you must back into it.

add a text box.
add a leader
change leader to the preferred setting (50% for example)
right click and "save as default"
remove the leader to take it back to just a text box.
right click on the text box and "save as default".
new text boxes should now have the default setting of leader arrows to be 50% when you add the leader.

Another option is to set all your parameters as above, but save it to a Custom tool chest.
