Many PDF plan sets now retain their original CAD layers, allowing users to isolate specific elements such as curb lines, pipelines, building footprints, and other objects.
It would be extremely beneficial if Bluebeam could leverage this information during takeoffs by allowing users to select or snap to CAD linework rather than manually tracing it. For example, when performing a linear takeoff on a curb, a user could simply double click the existing curb line and have the takeoff follow the entire connected line automatically. This would significantly reduce the time required for takeoffs, improve accuracy, and make better use of the CAD data and Layers already embedded in many PDF plan sets.
