Create Bookmarks from Index

It would be extremely beneficial and would save a lot of time if Bookmarks/Page Labels could be loaded from a List. Something like one of the below.

CSV file
1. Column 1 = Page Number
2. Column 2 = Page Label
Simple Txt file
1. Line Number: Page Number
2. Line Text: Page Label

I feel like implementing a feature like this should be simple and follows with the methodology of Revu's current Bookmarking/Page Labeling process.

@Noah are you looking for this feature for drawings, specifications or other documents?

I ask as the process for creating Bookmarks/Page Labels as is currently provided is pretty efficient for drawings using the "Page Regions" options (assuming the PDFs are consistent). Specifications can be a bit more challenging, but there are some handy tricks for these too.

Is the CSV or Txt file that you discuss something that you have already - or something that you are having to spend time preparing anyway?

@David Cutler Thanks for your response. My post is in regard to Construction drawings, specifically Mechanical/Electrical/Architectural drawings. I am very familiar with Revu and I utilize the Bookmarks from Page region very Often. True, the basic functionality is there, but limited.

For instance, I need to create Bookmarks (For page labels) to quickly estimate a Job. This may be what (at best) Revu auto-generates from the page vs my formatted label:

Default: "M222 - PARTIAL FIRST FLOOR PLAN -AREA A"

Formatted: "[M] Floor 1 - (A)"

I use an application I wrote which reformats the whole list of Bookmarks at once. The problem is you still have to Copy each line, edit the bookmark and paste the formatted text. This becomes very time consuming to do manually for 250+ Sheets on each Job, and it's almost easier to manually reword every Bookmark instead.

It would be awesome to be able to simply format your bookmarks in Notepad, then load each Bookmark/Page Label based on the Line number vs Page number.

Or even better, a CSV where you put the Page Number in one Column and Label text in another Column. Then you could only choose to set/change bookmarks for certain Sheets without losing any other bookmarks.

Thank you for the additional insight into your workflow @Noah. I typically am able to get a reasonable bookmark using the Page Region tool, though I do tend to edit for length at times along with adding child bookmarks as I identify where details are located.

Something you might consider is batch stamping the information that you are looking to use for your bookmarks to onto your document. If you flatten those stamps you would be able to use the page region tool to collect that information in the order that you need. You might be able to use the header/footer stamp option to do this also. It includes a handy option for "Bates Numbering" that allows you to create a simple alpha/numeric numbering series that again might help you get the information into a place on the drawing where you could capture it for your bookmarks/page labels.
