Suggestion for basic added features

Not sure if this is the correct place to add this, if not please point me to the correct section. I am proficient will all types of design software (20+ years) and recently started using Bluebeam for my current role. Like any software, the only thing that changes is the terminology. If you know what you want to do, you usually can, it is just called something different.

While I have been able to grasp and use most of this software, there does seem to be a few things missing. I would suggest being able to enable draggable guides from the rulers that will float and not print on layers. And, the ability to change a pages orientation independent of the drawing.

Both of these requests seem pretty basic and should be in any design software. Any chance you can drop them in this software.

@Wesley Anderson you might consider checking these features out:

Grid - Revu includes an option to display a grid across the drawing. This is available through the "View" menu by selecting "Show Grid". There is also an option to "Snap to Grid". Grid spacing is adjusted on the "Preferences" menu under the General list/Grid & Snap tab.

I'm not sure I'm understanding your request to "…change a pages orientation independent of the drawing." Revu offers a number of ways to change page orientations:

Rotate Pages - Accessed from the Thumbnails Pane from a right click menu - this changes how the page is oriented in the document

Rotate View - Accessed from the "View" dropdown menu this changes how the page is oriented on the screen. Orientation remains the same in the overall document

@David Cutler Thank you for your response. The page and view rotations do work but the layout itself also rotates. I do understand the difference of each view and how it can impact the text and features of markups and am comfortable with each type. What I was referring to is that the page/artboard being able to be rotated or page resized without having any impact on the layout.

On the grid and snap to's (mark up or grid) that function works and works well. This is also a function; along with page setup; in most every software I have used going back to 1996 including Adobe Photoshop 3, Illustrator 3, Macromedia Freehand 7 and Corel Draw among many others. However, the pull down guides in addition to these functions can dramatically speed up the process as well as giving you more control and precision on what you would like to do. It is just a faster way of working.

I am in no way knocking the software, it serves a purpose that nothing else I have found can it terms of measurements. However, like most creators I would love the ability to have it all under one roof. I am just now digging into to the java-script side now. Not sure how functional it will turn out being. In Adobe they are called Actions while in Excel it is called macros and in each they are limitless. I will explore the boundaries of Bluebeam with it. I will need to brush back up on my script writing, which I have not used much since HTML5 came out. With all that said I am enjoying exploring the software and pushing it's limits, which I am used to almost none. I am sure I have a long way to go, so far it has been pretty straight forward.

I'm a big fan of Revu. It does most of what I need as an estimator very well, but that doesn't stop me from making product improvement suggestions - I've submitted 29 so far this month as part of a "1 a day" campaign.

I haven't gotten into Java-script side of the software yet as I don't have the use case at this point. But there are some in the community that will blow you away with their capabilities.

Keep the questions and suggestions coming. Together we all learn from them. 😎
