Build connections with Bluebeamers around the world, discover what’s new, and make your voice heard.
I'm looking to understand certain limitations and request that Bluebeam allows for users to opt out of the restrictions currently put on sessions to offer a more collaborative environment within sesesions. I have (3) issues currently with Bluebeam that seem unnecessarily restrictive.
Thank you!
Anthony
Emphatic thumbs-ups to all three of these suggestions… 👍️👍️👍️
#1 and #2 especially seem like they are vestiges of early development decisions on what the 'right' way is to use a Session, and ever since, those self-imposed blinders have defined the feature. (Bluebeam seems to suffer from quite a few of these blinders…) All three of these functionalities maybe should remain the default settings (or not), but with options to allow them to be changed by session admin users (or otherwise controlled).
These would be so helpful for us! Especially the ability to flag a user as a trusted/lead user of some sort which would allow them to edit markups left by other users.
The VERY issues we are facing and combing through these boards to find a solution. 100% on point with the comments made. Teams are unnecessarily handcuffed by these limitations.
The creator of the session should have full administration control over their documents. For integrity purposes track every action-Fine!, BUT give the session owner the ability to control their documents.
One page out of 200 needs to be replaced—that's it. pulling it off session, replacing that one page and re-uploading in session now has every mark-up locked, why can't I the session owner override that so my team can do what they need to?
Hoping BB monitors and responds in kind with a "feature add" that resolves this.
Thanks for your comment, and those that have agreed.
Couldn't agree more. Please add these abilities to the studio session! Having one stop where all of the revised plan sheets are stored, one file, for everyone to see, is something needed.
I couldn't agree more on this. We have a permitting/licensing software that we built a Bluebeam integration for, and users are constantly asking us why they cannot perform page manipulation actions (adding, rotating, or resizing pages) within their Bluebeam sessions. I can see that if we switch our integration to Projects, most of these issues would be fixed, but then we'd lose the ability to have multiple users editing a document at the same time. Bluebeam is essentially forcing us to choose between real-time collaboration and basic document editing, and neither option fully serves our users.
