I'm looking to understand certain limitations and request that Bluebeam allows for users to opt out of the restrictions currently put on sessions to offer a more collaborative environment within sesesions. I have (3) issues currently with Bluebeam that seem unnecessarily restrictive.
- Ability to Replace Pages within a Session
- Currently, content editing tools such as Replace Pages are disabled in Sessions. The ability to swap updated drawing backgrounds while retaining markups would greatly improve efficiency in long-term collaborative reviews.
- Ability to Edit Comments Placed by Other Users
- At present, only the original author can edit their markups in a Session. For some workflows, accountability is less important than flexibility, and allowing trusted collaborators to edit or refine text/comments would eliminate unnecessary delays.
- For example, we use sessions to keep certain codes/standards updated. When someone has replaced text and then that text needs to be updated again, it is burdensome to have to tap that same employee again, and we would prefer the ability for any employee to make the correct updates to documents.
- Ability to Keep Pre-Session Markups Editable
- When a file with existing markups is uploaded to a Session, those markups become locked. A feature that allows pre-existing markups to remain editable (or an option to “convert to Session markups”) would better support ongoing projects.
- Often, we start a markup outside of session but then want to bring it into a session.
Thank you!
