Georeferenced PDFs are not a new thing, but it was surprising to me that these files do not have supporting tools in Bluebeam. The company I work for has been evaluating the benefits of switching our standard PDF editor/viewer from Adobe to Bluebeam, and this functional gap was a downside brought up by one of my peers.
A geospatial PDF map includes information to reference location data. Meaning, it keeps the location coordinates, allowing you to view and interact with the PDF to find and mark locations (hypothetically).
A geospatial location tool could allow users to:
- View latitude and longitude when the cursor is over an area with geospatial information.
- Add a geospatial annotation to mark a specific location
- Search for a location within the document
I hope to see something similar implemented in the future!
