Cannot edit Vector PDF at all

Hi

Bluebeam newbie, just installed the latest complete version today. All I want to do is to highlight a line drawing of a door and change its colour to red. Then choose a wall and fill the gap between 2 lines in red. Also it might be nice to edit text.

= I've tried the select tool and it does nothing. Nothing is selected. Ever.

= I tried the snapshot option. This selects nothing either and just disappears if i right or left click

= The Dynamic fill more or less works once you understand quirks like the circle has to be entirely with the wall or the colour spills over. But why when I click apply, why does the colour change from red to a very light pastel red? Also there seems to be invisible white areas which the fill seems to ignore. Looks like previous parts of a drawing were deleted or something.

= As above none of the text is selectable. If I choose Edit→PDF Content→Select All Text it finds nothing. Tried running OCR, seemed to do nothing.

= Tried also Repair PDF with all options set - nothing.

As best as I can work out the, file uses Vectors, based on zooming in fully onto text. Given that the dynamic fill and measure functions seem to pick up the lines, why cant select? Regarding the doors, the fill seems to totally ignore these. Does it mean anything that the doors are in Green and not Black?

For this job I have 2 x large plan drawings of schools with both exhibit the symptoms above. I have another drawing for a different newer part and on that I can select and edit text, but not select anything.

Anyone have any ideas?

Update
I've solved the dynamic fill colour change. That section had a box with 10 in it but no description of what this was. It related to opacity so when you choose 100 the colour is fine.

Relating to Snapshot, I am able to select a section of wall, copy it and then do a "Change Colours" from Black to Red. Though this applies to the entire section copied. It almost like its just treating the copied section as a jpeg.

I can't understand why the Dynamic Fill knows its a line and the Measure Tool knows its a line, but you can't simply select that line and change its colour :/
