Hyper link does not work correctly in the BB app?

I have bunch of links in a document that work fine on the PC? But not on the BB app. I really need these to work in the app for my people in the field. The link circled in the attached pic is suppose to direct to a certain snapshot within a page of the conduit schedule, a different document. It takes you to the conduit schedule, but to the first page, not the snapshot. Field people still have to flip through a lot of pages to find the actual conduit run. Not in my mind what the app should be capable of? Any ideas? I sent this to BB tech support way back on 5/27/26, Case# 02422667. They where able to replicate the issue. Have yet to get resolution. Last communication from BB was on 6/26 saying their engineers where on it? Crickets! Lol I know they are busy, I am sure. That's why I am posting about it on this forum, hopefully someone will have an answer or a good work around? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Clarification. The link is tied to a place, that is a "Current View" of the particular conduit in the schedule. It does not work, it takes you to page 1 of the conduit schedule. I have a similar situation where I went into the "Cable Schedule" and created a pure "Snapshot View" by creating a place directly in the Cable schedule. It works. Seems the later will have to be my work around. I really wish they could fix the other, as I have hundreds of links made, that will now need to be redone. Wish I would have proofed that tool before I used it.

Hi @Roy Triggs,

There are several different ways to create hyperlinks in Revu. It sounds like yours may be linking to a “Place.” Is that correct?

I’m happy to escalate this and dig into it further. I just want to understand exactly how the link was configured. If you can DM me a link to the file, that would help even more.

Mr. Dawson, I unfortunately cannot send you the file. It is restricted. But, I can walk you through.

I broke the drawing down into separate files as follows.

E-100-XXX Conduit Layouts

E-220-XXX Installation Details

E-300-1XX Cable Schedule

E-300-2XX Power Conduit Schedule

E-300-3XXX Control Conduit Schedule

etc

The first snip above is from E-100-XXX I treat it as home base.

The second snip is from E-300-2XX. I start by going into the schedules, creating "Places" for each conduit in that schedule. I create these places as "Snapshot views" and name them for the conduit.

When I create the hyperlink on E-100-XXX(Circled in Red) it is pointed to that place. See the attached pic.

This works fine on my pc drawing, but when trying to access it on my Ipad, it takes you to page one of E-300-2XX instead of to the snap shot that is defined in the place that was created.

The following links work they where built differently. They where made from a hyperlink. See properties attached. The first where made by editing action on a rectangle markup.

If you look at the action in each clip, you will notice they are not the same format? Not sure if that has something to do with it.

If I remember correctly, the highlighted hyperlinks I created in a batch style, by searching the documents, then checking the boxes of the ones I wanted linked, and using the hyperlink tool within the search pane.

Thank you, Roy. Your explanation and screenshots clarified the issue. I found the existing support ticket and confirmed that links to Places are not currently supported, even though other hyperlink types work.

I’ve asked the team to use your workflow as a test case and explore whether we can include this in our November mobile release. If the engineering effort is larger than expected, I’ll work to prioritize it for early next year. I’ll follow up once I know more.

So I did some testing. Below are my findings. I have shared these with BlueBeam. They are working on solutions. I am sharing for the simple reason of supplying work arounds and limitations for hyperlinks if you use them a lot, like I do. By "slip sheet test" I am meaning I inserted a blank sheet to see if my hyperlink would still point to the correct target. I did also try using the "Slip Sheet" tool. It will move hyper links on the page being supersceded to the revision. But outside hyperlinks looking into that page do not move to the new target. I do leave the old sheet and check box "mark supersceded" so it is adding a page. I prefer to leave the old page in to show the field guys what changed.

Hopefully this will help others, that's the goal.
