HI BB team,
Is there any way we can delete or hide the "comment" column in BB's tool chest. It is not used in our company and takes up needed space when taking off the plans.
MDT, I hear what you are saying, but I have never found a way to hide it. But let's dig a little deeper into what you are trying to do or could possibly do. It is easy to Hide the Comments column in the Toolset by simply dragging the grip across to provide more display area real estate or drag the Comments column closer to the display area. But that then hides the Lable column. I assume you have a need for the Lable column.
If you do not need a Label, that is a simple fix to give the Subject more space and fewer Comments information, but not removed.
Now, let's dig into why you are not using the Comments column. I come from a CAD Management background, so if I can communicate easily with end-users without walking over or jumping on Teams, I will take advantage of that function. In Toolsets, I use the Comments column to describe how to use the Markup in the Toolset. Does everyone read it, It's probably not, but it's there and reduced the number of times they asked me, 'How does this work.'
Good luck with your Toolset.
Good morning, since this issue shows up in multiple posts and I agree with them I would like to add further explanation below.
When performing a take off you want to maximize the plan sheet space you are viewing. Currently if you drag the "grip" to narrow the tool chest display area it slides the comment and label columns with it until they reach their minimum width and then it starts to overlap the subject area leaving your subject area to only +/- 8-12 characters. Then if you go to expand the grip to reveal more characters it first unveils the comment and label columns and by the time the subject column grows in width you've now lost a good section of your entire screen. The two fixes would be 1. ability to hide columns 2. when you drag the grip have it start to cover the label comment columns immediately.
Agreed! Thanks for detailing this issue. the comment column takes up so much real-estate and its pretty much useless.
Actually, I take that back, well at least some of it. I just checked and you can now HIDE the Comment section.
and just slide the column over, and now its GONE:
I also see that you can pretty much hide all columns you want, so this issue is FIXED!
I'm at the latest update, my columns do not collapse as far as you're showing
This remains the narrowest in my case…
I see there was an update 6/6/25, but it seems it is not applied to older versions. I cannot fully hide the column and it is very frustrating to repeatedly minimize as much as I can every time I open tools.
Anybody know what happened to the ToolChest checkmarks and "X" markups?
Had some associates do their Bluebeam update and now they are not able to print their pdf document to a printer. Any advice?
New the new way is terrible. Please change it back. I would be happy to show you the issue.
For plan review purposes, is it possible for one reviewer to rotate a plan so the orientation to a more standard orientation, and save that orientation so that subsequent reviewers that open the file will not have to rotate the plan set as well?
I have been having issue with my Bluebeam/Revu that prevents me from carrying on with my work. Sometimes when a file is open and in the middle of working with the file, the following message pops up (see snippet below), which locks me out of continuing the work and forcing me to "End program" and restart Revu again. This…
What is the difference between Snapshot (G) and Snapshot Content (Shift + G)?
We have a markup document that contains multiple page sizes, mostly 11"x17", and we need them all to be 22"x34" so we can do a synchronized view for review with a the final drawings that are all 22x34. I am able to resize all the pages but the bluebeam markups on the page do not scale and remain small in the corner. Is…
Hi guys im looking for uk tools sets spercificaly Uk electrical symbles and fire alarm symbles for marking up drawings and can only find US versions.
Is anyone else having issues using Bluebeam Cloud in the field on their iPads? I understand they are discontinuing Revu on iPad, but the features aren't even close. Cloud lacks a lot and makes it almost impossible to use in field. I can't see any layers or choose any layers which is the point. The whole point of this…
I do a good amount of takeoff in bluebeam and noticed an annoying issue after updating to 21.7. It used to be that you could use the CNTRL + Shift keys to do a straight takeoff line (shift key) and avoid any control lines or points on the drawing (CNTRL key) to get to a precise spot on the drawing. After the update, the…
