Spaces and the Legend

Say you have a large floorplan that is divided into a dozen or so different areas (spaces).

Is it possible (in any version of Bluebeam) to have a single legend that - simultaneously - shows the device counts specific to each individual space? See attached diagram for an example of what I'm hoping to do.

You can't do this automatically with a single built-in Legend in Bluebeam Revu.

A Legend can summarize counts for each markup type, but it doesn't natively break those counts down by multiple Spaces into separate columns like your example.

A few options that may help:

• Use Spaces + Markups List. Every markup placed inside a Space records the Space name. You can then filter or group the Markups List by Space and export the data to Excel for a table like your example.

• Create separate Legends for each Space. This works, but becomes difficult to manage if you have many spaces.

• Use Quantity Link with Excel. This is probably the closest solution. Since markups store both the Tool/Subject and the Space, you can export or live-link the data to Excel and build a pivot table that automatically displays device counts by Space in a single matrix.

For a project with 10–20 spaces, I'd recommend the Quantity Link + Excel workflow. It's scalable, updates with your markups, and gives you a legend/report very similar to the layout in your image.

I'm curious if anyone in the community has found a fully native Revu workflow for this without using Excel.
