Flattening, But Keeping Things Hidden

Question

How do I flatten a file, but stop the hidden components from showing up? For example: I only want salespeople and customers to see the square footage and not all the lines for extrusions and other counts and components.

I'm very new to Revu…I've been using Planswift and Onscreen forever.

Should be from the top toolbar, Document > Flatten, or Batch > Flatten markups for multiple documents that are open.

Perhaps you can create layers in the document and assign the elements you want to show in one layer and the ones you want to hide in another layer and then you can flatten the file and turn off the layer with the objects you want to hide or delete that layer from the flattened file (make a copy of your original before with the hidden and not hidden elements so you don't lose them)

So I think you are setting some of the markup to hidden, but when you flatten the document, the hidden markups become visible.

It depends on what exactly you are trying to accomplish by flattening the document, but the simplest thing to do is probably to leave your hidden markups hidden, select the items you want visible, then right click and flatten just the selection. When you share the file, your hidden markups will stay that way although they will be accessible as markup to anyone with the partially flattened file.

A more elegant way to do that would be to set the layers you want hidden to "No Plot" and print to PDF as a new file. The result is basically the same, but would make for quicker revisions in the original file when necessary.
