Solving graphics preferences reverting to default settings

I've noticed for a while that when opening big pdfs Bluebeam freezes. To solve this I do the recommended instructions of changing the rendering engine from hardware to software via Revu → Preferences → Advanced → 2D Rendering and 3D Rendering. This works and I can open the pdf. My issue is, if I close out of bluebeam and later on open up bluebeam again, these settings reset back to hardware. Does anyone know why bluebeam is reverting my preferences and how I can keep my preferences set.
