Callout tool in properties mode but with pre-populated text

I've customized the callout tool for weld mapping (O&G fabrication). I have the line, endpoint, and text box shape as I like them.

My problem is, when used in drawing mode, my pre-populated text and text box size is exactly how I want it but the line endpoint and associated lines are locked in place (not ideal). If I use it in properties mode, the line endpoint and associated lines are adjustable (ideal) as with callout tool but the pre-populated text and text box size are lost.

How can I customize the tool so that I can get the best of both worlds? I.E. adjustable line endpoint and associated connecting lines that also maintains the pre-populated text and text box size?

Somehow I think there is probably a very simple fix to make this work the way I want it to but I lack the experience. So, sorry in advance if this is a stupid question.

Instead of using a callout, perhaps just make the text box and contents the way you like them. Then after placing it, right click to add the leader. It's sort of backwards but should achieve the same result.

That works, Jason, but still wildly inefficient for the case use. When weld mapping a piece of equipment, you may be mapping 3,000 welds spread across 100 isometric drawings. Creating a markup using 12 steps would take ages.

The idea would be to run through a drawing, that might have 50 welds on it, placing these callouts on each weld one after another until completion. The call-out would pre-populated text like a weld identification prefix such as "BW" followed by an auto-incremented number and then two additional lines below with placeholders for welder stencil and date completed. Then, at a later date, as the welds are completed, someone can go in and add the welder stencil for the performing welder along with the specific date the welder completed the weld.

The less clicks the better which is why keeping the line endpoint and associated lines adjustable is imperative because the boxes will need individual placement so as not to obscure other parts of the drawing.

Are you taking part in the Bluebeam Max Beta? This could be a good test for Claude and to see if it can identify those weld symbols and automatically place a callout on them.

Not familiar with the Max Beta. That said, I'd prefer to customize a tool to do it manually. AI doing all of that mapping automatically is a nice thought but seems like it would struggle in this arena.

The best way I can think of to do what you want is to copy your text to the system clipboard, place your callout in properties mode, then hit "ctrl-v" to paste at the cursor. As long as you have "reuse markup tools" set to on, there are no additional clicks and just the single keystroke.

While that would work, for a drawing with 50 weld callouts, would still be quite laborious.

I guess if there is no way to achieve with current functionality, the next question to ask would be, is there someone I can suggest implementation to the development team?
