AutoCAD Layers aren't showing up in PDF

I have plotted two drawings from AutoCAD to PDF (each a single page). When I open them separately in Bluebeam, their layers show up as expected. When I insert the second page into the same PDF as the first page, the layers are no longer showing for the second page.

How do I get the layers to come along with the PDF when I insert it?

Have you got the Merge details ticked under the options when inserting the page? Maybe that will make a difference if not.

Also, an alternative route would be to have both files open making sure that the layers are all working. The when you do the insert, instead of finding a file just add the open file - once again making sure all of the options are ticked.

How are you inserting the second page? If you haven't, maybe try the Bluebeam Stapler to combine the two. Alternatively, you could create one PDF to start by using Batch Plot in AutoCAD.

Doing a batch plot in AutoCAD doesn't work since we often will need to do revisions on a single page and we will then replace it in the PDF of all pages.

The method I use is to open the first sheet of the document then from the menu bar:

Document>Insert>Pages from Document

Then I navigate in the file dialog box to the subsequent pages and select them. They insert to the drawing and I save that file under the name I need.

But when doing that, none of the layering on pages after the first show up in the PDF.

The Merge details weren't selected. I wasn't aware that this was even a thing to be able to select. Someone on my team sorted that out and we've been recreating several multi-page PDFs with this method to make sure that it was working. I hadn't had a chance to get back here and verify that the problem was solved until today.
