A Feature to Copy Several Polygon Cut-Outs

I'm currently going through a take-off for a building that requires several windows being deducted. It's at this point where I realise that a copy feature could be in place allowing users to move the cut-out entity of one window, across all areas that need to be deducted - especially if the areas happen to be the same size or similar for the cut-out to be adjusted. I feel feature would save copious amounts of time in the long run 😉

This is a great question @Ross Noble! One of my coworkers asked something similar a few years ago for removing island areas for parking lot takeoffs. @Vince French pointed out that you hold down the Control Key while selecting the boundary of the cutout you can drag a new copy of the cutout. Works very well!

Thanks for this, David. Just tried it out and eventually found a very faint line was visible when catching the line correct. They should probably be made as an individual tool, or clearer to see when you're copying a cut-out area. Thanks for the help.

Interesting that you are only seeing a faint line. My interior cutout edges match my exterior lines. I have them set a 1 PT currently and they are easy to grab. I can imagine if you have a very narrow line established it could be harder to grab correctly. Might be an option to increase the line width while you are working with the markup and then narrow it down when you are done. 😎
