When working with layers in Bluebeam, our estimating team typically uses the same template across all projects — about 15 main layers, each with multiple child layers. So far, we haven’t found a reliable way to transfer this full layer structure from one project to the next.
We’ve tried saving the layers to a template file (with some of the markups included), then inserting that file into a new project to bring in the layers. Afterward, we delete the inserted file, hoping the layers remain. Unfortunately, only the layers with actual markups transfer, and the parent/child hierarchy isn’t preserved.
Bluebeam Support confirmed this is a known issue they’re working on, but there’s no ETA for a fix. For now, we’re manually recreating the same layer template for each new estimate, which is tedious and time-consuming.
Has anyone found a better way to reuse or import a consistent layer template across multiple projects?
Thanks in advance!
