Control Points Disappearing when using Polygon Cutout

Hi everyone!

Curious if anyone has run into this and maybe could help me understand the reasoning behind this issue.

I'm using the area measurement tool for my takeoffs. For what I am doing I need to omit the walls which leads to a ton of controls points.

Not always, but has been very noticeable today, is when using the polygon cutout tool on the area measurement, it is deleting some of the control points.

As far as I can tell, it's only when the points are very close to one another.

As seen in the screenshots below, the first one is how I want it. The second one is demonstrating using the cutout tool not near anything but having control points go missing.

Any suggestions or insight on this? Let me know if any additional information is needed!
