@CLJE, This is how I would achieve this. Make sure you enable "Reuse Tools" under Preferences > Tools > Markup.

Make your first measurement, then double-click and continue double-clicking at each measurement point. (Tip, hold the shift key to keep the measurements in a straight line.)

I turned on segments to be horizontal here.
And Show Camption to get the full length (that is horizontal + vertical though)
