Allow Custom Statuses to be Modified in Studio Session

I understand custom statuses are considered a change the base PDF and must be done prior to Studio Session upload. This creates an extra step (open PDF, ensure custom statuses are populated, save PDF, upload to Session) in the workflow that is difficult to fix if not done properly. It would be great to allow status modification by the Session creator after upload, or by approved Session Administrators to allow a fix without exporting the PDF and reuploading to the Sesison.

  • It is frustrating when someone forgets to add the status options before uploading but I think the risk would be that someone could change the status menu after it's been used. So while I've been using "no exceptions" someone else might introduce "approved" which is not the language we want to use.

Great Question @agiesler and Good point @Luke Shiras! This is a workflow tension point in my firm as well.

I wonder if a QC note that pops up if you try to add more then one document with different base Status could be helpful. Something like "the file you are uploading dose not match status of existing uploads"

or potentially being able to apply a status the the SESSION itself, so the owner of the session is fully in charge status and consultants and others will have have no choice but to use matching statuses for redlines?

  • @Darbie , you're idea about assigning a custom status state/model to a Session is a GREAT idea. There could be checkbox to select to override status fields built into the PDFs themselves if different PDF docs being uploaded are all over the place.
