Re: Search Project / Sessions Job Names
I made a quick mockup to show what this should look like: check it out!

✴️ Feature Highlight: Changing Fonts in Typewriter & Text Box Tools
This week, we're highlighting how to change the font in the Typewriter and Text Box tools in Bluebeam Revu! 🖍️🖌️
When adding notes, comments, or callouts, adjusting the font style and size can help your markups look more professional, readable, and consistent across project teams.
➡️Here’s how to update the font in a Typewriter or Text Box markup:
- Select the markup by double-clicking it on your PDF
- Open the Properties panel
- Go to Window > Panels > Properties OR press ALT + P for a keyboard shortcut!
- In the Appearance section, locate the Font settings. From here, you can customize:
- Font type (PDF-safe or embedded fonts)
- Font size (including Auto-fit sizing)
- Bold, Italic, Underline, and more
- Line spacing, margins, and alignment
These font controls make it easier to create clear, standardized markups—especially when collaborating across large drawing sets.
🗃️Resources:
🪄Helpful tips:
- Font and style options are also available directly in the Properties toolbar when the markup is selected for quick edits.
👇️Share with us your thoughts on font customization:
- Do you and your team standardize fonts across markups?
- How often do you need to change your fonts?
- How could consistent font formatting improve communication on your projects?
Re: Convert shape to Area
"Breaking" polygons into multiple pieces is another function that would be very helpful
Re: Run OCR as a background process
The workaround for this is opening a duplicate instance of Bluebeam and using it to run OCR on any particular files as needed “in the background”, and meanwhile you are free to continue working normally on anything else in the original instance of Bluebeam.
You can open a duplicate instance of Bluebeam by holding SHIFT and left clicking the Bluebeam icon in the Windows taskbar. You can also double click the Bluebeam shortcut icon on the Desktop.
Technically, you could open as many instances of Bluebeam as you want with only one file per instance, or any combination of multiple files organized into project “workspaces” per instance.
That being said, I would not recommend running more than 2 instances at once while actually doing meaningful work because this increases the chance of Bluebeam crashing. File recovery can get wonky when multiple instances crash at the same time, or you could accidentally do work on a read-only copy of a PDF if it’s open in multiple instances. Either way, all progress is lost and unrecoverable. GG
Re: Layers
easiest way to do this is build your tree on a blank sheet and then add that sheet to the drawing set before you do anything else.
Then save, and delete the template
Re: Polyline Behavior Change?
The 90° snap is still available. You just have to lift the shift key between clicks. It's silly, but it's one workaround for the time being.
Re: Polyline Behavior Change?
Interesting for sure. I've found the length dimension tool acts differently now too. It drags out the actual dimension line instead of the light lines like it used to. It all seems to coincide with the last update. Hopefully it's sorted out soon.
Re: Plug-ins for Autocad/Autodesk Products not appearing
@Dan Phillips is correct, you cannot open a .dwg with Bluebeam Revu. There hasn't been a Revu update yet that supports Autodesk 2027 products either, so you won't see those come up until a later release.
Your best bet is to use the native .dwg to pdf.pc3 file from AutoCAD. It produces high quality PDFs with more options for including layers, hyperlinks, etc.

Re: 🗓️ May 2026 Challenge - Faster Than Before!
One of the things that I'm doing is to use templates to accommodate several drawings when I am measuring housetypes. In a similar way that stitching drawings together helps when you are working with layouts which are displayed over several plans, I find that when I'm measuring housetypes it is far easier to have them all on one page instead of continuously flicking through sheet after sheet or file after file.
So, I've created several templates which allow me to paste in copies of A1, A2 and A3 drawings - sometimes a mixture of these as well - the result being something like this: -
When I'm looking at recessed porch areas, etc which are not detailed on the elevations, I can easily find these on the plans then use sketch to scale. I can easily make sure that the elevation details all tie up. Double checking that the wall types on the plans match what is being shown on the elevations takes a couple of seconds.
This takes a bit of time to set up at the beginning but saves so much time during the measuring process. It also enables you to check that you've got all the drawings that you need at the outset instead of getting half way through your measures only then to discover that you are missing something.
Re: Automatic Room Recognition
I think what you're looking for is automatic Spaces creation. I would LOVE this feature.
That can actually be done when the drawings are exported from Revit. More Architects need to start doing this. Its easy too, just click a damn radio button and it happens.
As for the co-ordinates, not sure if that's a thing
