Custom PDF Background Color for Improved Readability

I would like to have the option to change the PDF background color to a color of my choice to improve readability and make it more comfortable for me to read, while keeping the original text and markup colors unchanged.

Have you tried adjusting the Dark Mode colors? This certainly has helped readability for me, and it can be easily toggled off in the lower right corner. Is this close to what you're after?

Yes, I tried adjusting the Dark Mode colors. It does improve readability, but I was hoping for an option to change only the background color while keeping the original text and markup colors. Dark mode changes the text to white.
