match filter in batch compare documents

Hi!

When trying to batch compare two folders using the command "Batch/Compare Documents…" I can't understand how to use the "Match Filter" to get Revu to match the files:

file1 = CP-003073-Prel - BOM.pdf

file2 = CP-004006-Prel - BOM.pdf

The file names start with "CP-" and then a number. This substring should be ignored when matching pages. How can I accomplish that?

Hey Jon, one idea might be to select the "Manual Correlation" option within the Match Pages dropdown. When it is trying to match the pages, or even the Page Labels, it is looking for them to match and with those numbers being a sequentially generated number, I'm not sure if it will match for you, unless the Page Labels (within Thumbnails) are the same, manual might be the only option, at least that I can see. With manual, you select which pages should be the match and then Revu will compare them. Hope this helps a little.

Thanks for taking the time to respond! Unfortunately, manual matching is not an option as I need to compare thousands of pages on a weekly basis…

Page Labels is an interesting alternative, unless the "Match Filter" can be used. Unfortunately, the manual does not specify how to use this feature. The manual specifies the character wildcards, but not what the meaning of the filter is. Does it match the part of filename to be ignored? Or the part of the filename to use? Or something else?
