It would be helpful if, whenever I offset a perimeter measurement or line, the new line would retain the same properties (subject, custom column values, etc.) as the original line it was offset from.
I second this, alternatively make the format painter have a toggle/setting to paint all the object properties instead of just the format.
Hi Alondra, hope you are well doing
Absolutely agree. When offsetting a perimeter measurement or line, it would be much more efficient if the new markup automatically inherited all the properties of the original Subject, custom column values, measurement settings, and other markup properties. That would save a lot of manual editing, especially when working with multiple measurements.
thank you
Thanks for catching this @Alondra Lopez! Just tested it myself and can confirm, offsetting doesn't retain the properties like it should. Attaching a few screenshots below showing what I'm seeing.
Color and line width carry over but everything else resets to default, subject, custom columns, all of it. Agree this should be added to the fix list, seems like an oversight since it's inconsistent about what carries over and what doesn't.
@Jcostello that format painter toggle idea would be a solid alternative too if the offset tool itself doesn't get addressed.

That is a great idea @Jcostello!, similar to what Autocad does.
My colleague has just found a nice workaround for this issue. If you select a tool from your tool chest and hold ctrl you can convert an object into that tool chest preset and it inherits the desired properties, labels, subject etc. Quite a game changer.
