Multiple takeoffs with one measure

It would be great if Bluebeam had a feature that allows you to create multiple takeoffs from one measure. For example I could create rectangular room measure and then I could apply multiple different tools from tool chest to that one measure. You could for example create measure from room and just apply different tools (floor and ceiling area material, floor and ceiling listings, walls etc…) without creating a different measure for all of these takeoffs.

There is the dynamic fill, but I think that allows you to use only one tool per measurement type and the filling option is not that easy to use.

Lot of our customers have been asking a functionality like this.

@Joona Lehtinen, one way to accomplish this is by using custom columns in the Markups List. With custom columns and formulas, you can have a single measurement drive multiple calculated quantities, so one takeoff can represent several materials or values.

@Joona Lehtinen This is a feature that I would like to see as well. I believe this is something that is being worked on. That said, one possible work around for this is to use the 'Reply' function. Perform an Initial takeoff of the room with one tool, then right click and choose Reply. In the Markup List you will now see a new line that is associated back to the original markup. You can then go to the Markup List and edit the subject of the Reply to have your desired description. You could add a Reply line for each of these additional items.

I understand that is not a great solution but possibly it could help in some instances.

As stated, custom tools and columns is the key. For example, I do a lot of interior paint takeoff and with custom tools and columns I can drag one room area and get wall area, ceiling area, length of baseboard and length of crown all in their own custom column. Pull a door width measurement to subtract wall area and base length but not crown length, add casing leg lengths and casing head and calculate face of door area. Pull a window width measurement to subtract wall area, add casing leg lengths and casing head length and add sill length. I set all trim items to 12" wide by default to get linear foot measurements, but can adjust the custom width column for trim and get square foot totals if desired.
