I had a call with some of my field guys who tried using only Cloud for a few weeks, and they had quite a lot of feedback. They were instructed to go back to Revu until Cloud measures up, the problem is that as we're expanding, new hires won't have old Revu.
Their feedback was:
Precision. Since they can't zoom in and out, there is no snap, and it doesn't even keep a straight line, they don't feel confident in the measurements they get. Also, when you try to edit, I have to zoom all the way in and still play with tapping on the control point the 'right way' to be able to make changes to it, and sometimes I need to be a bit zoomed back to be able to see what I'm doing. This gets very frustrating as I have to keep clicking edit, until I just give up and create a new markup.
Tool Chest. Without being able to add their own stamps, they are unable to create good markups. One guy had to get on the phone and ask someone in the office to create what he was seeing. Trying to describe this over the phone… I'm sure you can understand their frustration.
Not to mention the inability to copy and paste (Snapshot) something already in the plans.
Picture Capture. Being able to add a capture to a callout so that you know exactly where the image was taken is missed, and some issues need multiple images.
Ability to add leaders. The callouts in Revu allowed this to point to multiple instances of the issue rather than add a callout at every instance. this one isn't as high on the priority, but it is still needed.
Creating folders is no longer as easy as it was in the old Bluebeam. This one wasn't high on the list, but it was worth mentioning.
My feedback:
Copy. Although new markups take on the properties of the last markup created, if I want to copy the same properties of an already existing markup that has since changed, I have to fiddle with the properties again.
Question 1- will the toolbox feature still allow us to create our own tools and add it to our toolchests?
Question 2- When is the next rollout (even if just a ballpark), and what's in it?
