Organizations working in highly regulated environments require the ability to protect sensitive PDF documents using Microsoft Information Protection (MIP) encryption. Bluebeam currently supports opening MIP‑protected PDFs; however, these documents open in read‑only mode, which limits their usability.
To support standard document review and markup workflows, MIP‑protected PDFs need to open with full read‑write capabilities when the user has appropriate permissions. Enabling this functionality would allow users to apply MIP labels and encryption to sensitive documents while continuing to use Bluebeam for editing, markup, and collaboration without disruption.
This enhancement would significantly improve Bluebeam’s support for secure document workflows in environments with elevated security and compliance requirements.
