Is this a way to not have leaders attach to the top and bottom items like text, only to the left and right sides?

The leaders automatically snap to the midpoints of a text box depending on its relative position. Move it around a bit and you'll see what I mean
Thanks for the response. That's fine but I do not like the leaders connecting to the top and bottom when I am redlining drawings. I am regularly having to adjust them. A setting to fix that per markups would be great and then I could make that my default for new markups. There are a couple situations I would want them to attach only to the top and bottom so I don't want it to be a preference for all markups.

I erased one digit of the original pdf. Then added one character in text box over the erased area. Color is black. When I print, the character prints gray. And it looks gray in my "recents". (see "5" below) Anyone have a clue why?

When using the highlighter to mark completed changes, it often jumps into "text" mode every time it goes over letters, etc. Is there a way to turn this off so I don't accidentally highlight a bunch of text? I know you can hold down the CNTL button, but I'd like something that works more smoothly.
