I would like to see the Bluebeam icon for PDF documents in Windows 11 explorer be the round blue circle with the white "R" in it. Right now I have a blue vertical rectangle which gets confusing with the blue Word document rectangle. In our office about half the people have the blue rectangle and the other half have the round circle with the R. As per technical support uninstalling and reinstalling did not fix the issue. The blue round "R" needs to be consistent across all installations.
I would also like help with this. Making the icon more distinct from word documents would be helpful.
Hi Brian,
I’ve seen this happen with Bluebeam Revu on Windows 11. The PDF icon is tied to the Windows file association/icon cache, so reinstalling Revu doesn’t always reset it. I’d try setting Bluebeam Revu as the default PDF app again, then restart Windows. If the icon still shows as the blue rectangle, rebuilding the Windows icon cache can usually fix the mismatch. Since it’s happening inconsistently across the same office, comparing the Revu version/build and Windows file association settings between a PC showing the round R icon and one showing the rectangle would be a good next step.
thank you
you can change the icon associated with a file type. It's a Windows thing. Go forth and Google
