Tabs resizing while closing

It can be difficult to close multiple tabs in a row because they tabs bounce around and are different sizes depending on the document title. It would be nice if the tabs would either stay in place as they are closed, and resize when done, or if they would auto move to the back so that the 'x' goes to the same place and you can close multiple files without moving your mouse. This is done well in Google Chrome, as well as Mozilla Firefox for an example. This would be a nice quality of life feature.

@khoggard, this would be a nice feature.

There are some features that you may not be aware of (and they may just help you in your situation).

Close other tabs. Right click on the tab you want to keep and you can close all other tabs at once.
Use the center mouse button on any tab to close that tab (even is you are not on the X)
Save All: you can save all tabs.
