Ask them how much they spend on printing - ink, paper, equipment, storage folders, etc. then tell them that they can basically eliminate all of those costs.
In my experience, you have to first give them the TOOLS to go paperless. We're all used to printing off a set of plans and then having a bunch of highlighter pens and post-it notes handy to do all those things we've done for years, that's hard to break.
You have to get your office people trained on their tools, and that includes software. Like it or not software is a tool, and most of us don't use 85% of the features in our software. For some reason, we will train our blue collar teams on new tools, but we don't do the same when it comes to white collar teams. Why is that? Why does business not invest in training on software? Be honest, how many people really ever leave the File tab in your O365 programs? Excel is the most popular Office program in the world and only about 1% use it anywhere CLOSE to its capability. Only 3% of Excel users even know about Power Query (arguably its most powerful function), why is that? Even when it comes to Revu, the vast majority of users are using <20% of the software's capability. We need to invest in TRAINING, and we need to invest in people.
The other side of this is there needs to be an investment in the hardware. Tablets, Wi-Fi, Plan Tables, etc. These are all part of the paperless world, yet many construction sites/ shops lack in all three of these elements. In the office we have our computers, most of which I assume have multiple monitors, not so in the field. Construction sites have Conference rooms now, with multiple monitor setups for Teams calls, but the technology never makes it out of the trailers.
Going paperless requires a commitment from everyone, just like any new business process. Buy-in from the top down is essential. Support from management is essential. Get a few people who are interested to be your champions and allow them to freedom to recruit and show off their new skills, people will naturally gravitate when they see the time it saves.
People generally WANT their jobs to be easier, and while there will be some initial challenges, going paperless really does make most of our lives easier.
1 out of 4 documents won't show our organization's profile when trying to set the status of a comment in a Bluebeam Session. We re-converted the document to a PDF and the issue still remains when we opened it with Bluebeam. We received the original document from another organization and it's not locked by the creator. Is…
I have measured many different areas in relation to flooring. Now I want to create a new sub-zone on top of some of them, where Bluebeam should calculate how many square meters of the different types (e.g., based on color marking) are within this zone—ideally also showing the percentage of the total area at the same time.…
My bluebeam updated a few days ago, and since then my properties panel has disappeared and no longer pops up when I click on a markup. There is also no label in the markup list that I can edit or search for. The properties bar is still there, but when I click on the properties icon on the right side nothing happens anymore.
I have about 20 markup measurements on my list. How do I total these for the overall measurement or do I have to do it manually?
Hi, I'm a new user and want to edit some text on an existing PDF file. Can somebody please help me on how can this be done. I can use text box to add content, but not edit the original content.

Hello, I can't get Bluebeam review to work with handwriting to text while using it with my XpPen artist Pro 13.3. I enable the Pencil Entry (Entré de Crayon, I'am using the french version) and I cant make a single A to make it appear in text… Thanks for reading.
Suddenly, my space bar doesn't work with lower case text; just a continuous string of words. Any suggestions?
I'm working with a new firm, and they have clients who might (based on comments from other posts) not want us to use Bluebeam Studio Sessions. I'm assuming these objections that people have experienced are based on some security protocols their clients have. My question is, what are those objections? What do we need to ask…
Hi All, I am a site super who uses BB mainly for document management. As such I created a Set(.bex) to combine the different divisions of my project for easy access. I don't change anything on any of the documents but each time I close down BB a window pops up asking if I want to save the changes made to my Set(.bex) file.…
