Could someone guide me on how to initiate and complete a Secondary Steel (For an Example: Bent Plate, Angles, CMU Wall Supports, Sill Angle….) project using Bluebeam? A video tutorial would be preferable for better understanding.
This isn't a complete answer, but we have worked with clients in steel on various things in the past. We don't have any videos or classes recorded that are specifically on steel, but you can check out our regular quantity takeoff courses to get a better idea of what you can create with measurements and custom columns to get you there. Don't forget that everyone with a seat in Revu has access to Bluebeam University, which has both self-paced courses and live training. Another recommendation I have for you is to check out the Revu Custom Libraries. There, you'll find a welding toolset and a structural steel profile that includes more specialized toolsets that may help you with this project.
@Gopi J , your best bet is to make your own toolset. it takes time to set up but will ultimately speed things up in the future. Especially if you do any work on older steel structures like bridges as many of the old WF beams or Tied-Arch built structures, rather than more up-to-date structures use different values. Mine looks like this ↓
Be sure to set the measurements "Depth" Values to ones that will work with what you are trying to do in the measurements Tab.
Good luck and Happy Bluebeaming!
You also might try checking out our next Workflow Talk: Steel Takeoff Kit on 7/17 from 3-4pm ET and talk to the Bluebeam consulting team about this topic, they might have some tips for you too!
Thankyou so much Ashley Cox. i will try your recommendations.
Thank you so much James😊
What is up with the invisible text while editing a markup? This has been a recurring and persistent phenomenon that has remained through several updates of the BB subscription, over perhaps the last year. I create a markup with text, I double-click to edit said text and it becomes INVISIBLE (but is still there). I click…
Hi All, I accidentally added a layer at the end of the long list of existing layers. Has anyone found a way to reorder the layer list? I would also like to hide one of the layers I created by default and open it only when I need it. Is this possible? Thank you ahead, Ian
Here is my issue folks - clicking on a web link in a document does not open in the default browser, but in one of my other installed browsers. This behavior is experienced only with Bluebeam and one Trimble software, the rest of my installed applications obey my default browser setting. Has anyone encountered such issue…
I have recently upgraded to Revu 21 but the markup tools are greyed out so i am unable to use them. Does anyone have any ideas why this would be?
I used to know I two-key keyboard shortcut to re-size a cloud mark-up to more closely fit the text block it surrounds. I have forgotten it and can't find any information on it online. Can anyone help? Thanks
I'm trying to create a form that requires both signatures and initials. However, I can't seem to find a way to format the field for just initials. Is there a better way to do this other than using a text box?
Our department has recently begun implementing BlueBeam; however, we've encountered some challenges with registering our team members. I’ve been using the administrator account to send out registration emails, but I am currently unable to proceed. Each attempt results in the following error message: "There was a problem…
I'd like to see a tool where you can magnify part of document/drawing/detail/etc via callout or simple shape on a drawing. See video below for SolidWorks and Apple Photos examples. I think it would be useful to have a tool to mark several/all pages in a PDF with a watermark. In my specific case, I'm trying to note that a specification in a project manual still needs updates, but to do so in a manner that looks polished and professional. If a tool like this already exists, it would be useful if it…
