Would it be possible to add 'Fill color' as one of optional filters on 'Markup list'?
100% agree, we need a fill colour filter. Especially when making call out boxes that need to be colour codeded and highlighted / transparent rather than solid colours.
If changing the "Line Colour" to allow for this filter, the arrow is often unreadable for printed copies (i.e field mark ups for work-packs, weld traceability, As-builds and Fabrication markups etc)
The same goes for assigning colours using the "Link" tool to search and highlight. we need extra property options for this tool as well to assign line colour & Fill Colour separately.
Example for reference. Can't filter these comments by colour or export comments with colour number to Excel as all need to be "Red" so you can actually see the Arrows on a printed copy.
This may not work for you but, there is a trick to making your info more useful when exporting and using the data in Excel. Instead of looking at the line colours - use the text colours. Basically, once the markup list is exported the text colour that is shown in the markup list is shown as the RGB code in the CSV. Black is #000000.
In Bluebeam you can add new colours by changing the RGB code for the text e.g. #000001, #000002, etc.. You won't notice any difference in the colour on the screen but, once you export you have something by which you can start filtering.
These Colour properties would really be useful data if it could be exported to excel, or filtered by "colour" via the comments table columns.
Is there any way to create a custom column with to either set a the other colour properties via an RGB code, or one that uses a formula to return the RGB code for the different colour properties of a comment? i.e Line Colour, Text Colour, Fill Colour, transparency, hatch etc?
FYI, in Adobe (as much as I hate having to go back to adobe), with a little trickery using a modified export comments script, you are able to export almost all comment properties including %Transparency, text and fill colours etc.
Not sure why BB cuts out these properties from being included in the comment export / as filters for columns, when they are obviously standard property values.
The batch "link" tool (used for searching, creating links, and highlighting text) and custom "status" options (via "Manage Status" tool) allow setting of some basic colour properties, but this is limited to highlight / fill colours for "Link" tool, and Text/Line colour for Status (which is not really useful without being able to set the other colour properties as well).
It seems like this is some basic filterable & useful data that the export .csv model should be able to handle. It would also tie in nicely with using Link and Status tools, for creating better more readable comment Legends / Keys.
