Multiple markup default settings

Depending on the type of markup I am doing, sometimes I want all my text/leaders/clouds etc in red. Other times it needs to be in blue. I would like to have a way to toggle between different presets or defaults so I don't have to continually change color of the markups when I want the non-default color.

I see two ways this could be accomplished:

Create a primary/secondary defaults and a method to toggle between them.

Give the ability to create custom toolbar buttons (not tool chests) and alter the markup settings.

I use tool Chests for this. Is there a reason that you specifically do not want to use tool chests??

Yes, if I add Text, Cloud, Callout or Cloud+ to a tool chest, it just drops an identical version of that item instead of allowing me to draw the text box, leader length, etc.

You know what, I just figured it out:
Create an object like a callout or cloud+ with the properties you want
Right-click and add to Tool Chest
Right-click on the tool chest icon that was just created and change from "Drawing Mode" to "Properties Mode"
