It would be helpful to have an autosave function for PDFs being used in Revu. Currently this does not exist and would be very beneficial.
If there is a way to program and keep undo's and still autosave, we should try and explore that. may be the current system won't let you right now to do so, but if you can make it work that is ideal. I had Bluebeam crashed on me at times and was still able to recover most of the times. very sometimes that is not the case though. I wish this feature gets added asap.
Hi BB, long time user first post here in the community. I would like to make the request for an auto-save feature like so many others have, almost all GIS, CAD type software has this feature for reasons that I really don't think need much or any explanation…. hours or large volumes of work lost for various reasons over the years for no good reason other than no autosave feature. I know there are recovery files available, but this does not always capture the work lost. If BB wants to go to the next level this feature is a must. Take a look at the auto-save feature in QGIS, it works beautifully. I am so amazed that a relatively simple and established tool has not yet been added yet!!!! Come on, BB I know you can do it…..
Keep up the good work, thanks Mark.
Auto save is a must one. If you forget to save your work in that time Auto Save Helps you to become save your work.
Is it possible to downvote? I would absolutely HATE auto-save in bluebeam. I get the tendency, but that would essentially break the way profiles and custom columns work. Auto-save would make it impossible to switch profiles in a way that isn't tedious and annoying. I work a lot in profile management and tool creation for folks in the company I work for.
The ONLY way I'd want to see auto-save is if it is initiated per document so we have control over when the PDF markup columns are set in stone.
Edit 1: I'd like to add that I greatly appreciate the recovery feature and the notification when closing unsaved changes. I don't know how changes are lost unless someone has the knee-jerk response to not accept the save before closing dialogue. Auto-save only really helps when you are prone to making critical mistakes on a regular basis, IMO.
No downvote option, @bcostlow, but we appreciate the feedback!

I am thinking,
Say Autosave is automatically enabled with every document you open for the first time, and has an easy on-off switch, would that help with your specific situation? And it would only apply per document, it wouldn't be a mass save every 5 minutes on the 20 documents I've got open.
I've had my computer crash before and the program crash on me before, no prompt, no recovery, nothing. When you spend 8 hours minimum a day in front of a computer and 80% of that is on Bluebeam, things happen throughout the years that are out of a regular person's control.
@MPilipchuk
I can see that being a worthwhile way to use the feature. The problem for me just comes down to Profile management. As long as I can open different documents on different profiles and it doesn't imprint a profile's columns before I get a chance to get it right, then the feature is fine. But, if it is more likely to complicate my EVERYday tasks then it's a no-go. Most of the folks who want the feature are talking about rare catastrophic moments which suck, but at least they aren't the norm. If autosave makes my everyday harder then I can't support it.
I think if it were structured the way Autodesk AutoCAD saves backup files as a .bak extension in lieu of .dwg file extension (in a designated folder) you wouldn't overwrite any current data nor make the working file unable to have undo capabilities. It is a completely separate file essentially automatically scheduled to copy a "Save As" document. If you wish to use the backup file you then change the file extension in Explorer to .dwg and open it. Autodesk Revit does similar but saves designated number of backups with individual timestamps.
@dbutari - I can see that working, but that other file format would have the profile attached, right? I am trying to contemplate the consequences of that happening and I'm just not sure if it's worth it or not. I mean, I trust that if Bluebeam were to rollout autosave that they wouldn't do it while destroying the functionality of profiles. I guess what I'm trying to say is, I support the idea of preserving hard work in the case of catastrophic situations, but I would hate to see a core component of the software be compromised if the change isn't done carefully and thoughtfully.
Please add the ability to allow some users to edit/delete other peoples comments. This can be controlled through permissions. At our organisation when reviewing drawings there is a review manager that consolidates comments before sending them back. This process occurs regardless of if we are using Bluebeam or another tool.…
Add folders for studio sessions to organize the list of recent Studio sessions. Some of our clients utilize one Studio session per deliverable on large projects that have multiple reviewers. It can be quite a task to find the one studio session for a smaller project amidst the rows and rows of studio sessions per…
With more people using bluebeam as a CAD/drawing program. It would be nice if bullet points/numbers points with auto text indent was a feature.
It would be great be able to see to whom and when the "alert attendee" has been done. Today you can see exactly who and when markups has been accepted but there are no info at all if a markup has been alerted to someone.
It would be a huge time saver to have keyboard shortcuts for assigning markup statuses. Numerous workflows (e.g. QA/QC and design reviews, punch/back-check) involve multiple status changes for markups, and often times there are multiple statuses (or state models) to choose from. On large projects, with 100's if not 1,000's…
This has been requested many many times in the past by many Revu users. WHY is there STILL no numbered/bulleted list function??
