Bluebeam Cloud needs to stay
The Bluebeam Cloud application works pretty well as a project management feature. Compared to some of the major construction project management software programs, Cloud works very well and could be top tier with a little support and better marketing. Our company honestly expected that Bluebeam would continue to evolve Cloud and improve it over time, making it a powerful tool that would compete with any of the major competitors. Instead, looks like Cloud is being discontinued.
We understand that Cloud will be deactivated as of 8/27, but the Studio Project application is not going to be operational until some undisclosed amount of time later. Could be several months we were told. How could a responsible company make a shift like this without having a better plan for its customers? What if companies are using this to actively manage current projects, yet now the functionality is just going to end? Seriously?!? What a HUGE miss by Bluebeam to not have the new solution in place before the old one was canceled. As a result, our company will likely be seeking a refund on our licenses and switching to another software.

Totally agree. They've apparently already turned off the ability to create new projects, or even send inquiries for help. Cloud was a major reason why I signed up for Bluebeam and now I'm reconsidering going back to Adobe.

Hi @Will Shadwick and @Damon Owens,
Thank you for your feedback and for sharing your concerns. I want to clarify a few points to help you through this transition.
Bluebeam Cloud is here to stay. While we are retiring the Cloud Projects feature, including punch and field tools, Bluebeam Cloud is not going away. We're committed to evolving the platform. You can start using Studio Sessions in Bluebeam Cloud today to share files and create punch items on web and mobile. Attendees can add markups, assign statuses, or leave comments from any platform. You can also generate detailed reports using Batch Summaries in Revu. For a full walkthrough, please check out this video:
Support is available. Damon, I understand your frustration with accessing help. You can click the "?" in the corner of the app and select "Get Help," or email us directly at support@bluebeam.com. We’re here to ensure you have a smooth experience.
We're here to assist with the transition. I understand the challenges you're facing with the timeline. If you have questions or need temporary access to your projects after August 27th, please reach out. I'm happy to assist in any way to minimize disruption.
We appreciate your candid feedback and value your business. Please feel free to reach out with any other concerns or questions.

Shawn,
Are there plans to replace the Projects feature in Cloud? This feature is very helpful for companies who just need to share plan sheets on mobile devices. Thanks-

As of right now it appears Bluebeam Cloud Studio Sessions on mobile can only be used when on a data connection. We frequently do not have a reliable data connection in the field. Will Studio Sessions on mobile receive offline functionality? We cannot use this in the field without it.

@ShaneGuy From what I understand, the plan is to leverage Studio Projects and Sessions (Sessions is already available via BB Cloud) for all collabaration needs. Be it from the office on the desktop version or in the field on a mobile device.

Hi @ShaneGuy and @agalatioto,
Thank you for your questions and feedback.
@ShaneGuy, as Ken pointed out, Studio Projects will be coming to Bluebeam Cloud soon (web and mobile). Our goal is to make sure everyone has access to the same set of drawings, whether it’s a Session or Project, with our tools, on any platform. You can find more details in our post about the future of Bluebeam Cloud here.
@agalatioto, regarding offline functionality for Studio Sessions on mobile, while we don’t currently have a full offline sync feature, we do store information locally on your device. In the next couple of releases, the app will enable you to continue viewing and editing Session documents even if your connection drops. Once you're back online, any changes made offline will sync automatically. We’re committed to continuously improving the mobile experience.
Thanks again to @Ken Phelps for clarifying. I appreciate everyone's understanding as we transition. Please feel free to reach out with any other concerns.

@Shawn working on my iPhone, I didn't find that to be the case. If I dropped data, the drawings immediately close and become inaccessible until data is restored. Is there a workaround for that?

Hi @agalatioto
My apologies—you are correct. If you lose your connection, the drawing does close and becomes inaccessible until your connection is restored.
While we are storing data you create on the device, we understand this limitation and are actively working on a solution. The "dropped connection" change will be rolled out in one of our next upcoming versions to improve your experience in the field.
I’ve also edited my previous response to avoid any confusion.
Please feel free to reach out with any other concerns or issues. Thanks!
Shawn

@Shawn I've been working with you guys on this for a long long time and I think you folks are on the right path, but what is the timing of bringing projects / studio to the cloud? U guys are so behind everyone else when it comes to mobile. I hope you guys finally have the solution we can all use and be happy with.

Unbelievably disappointed today when I opened up BlueBeam Cloud on the web and on my phone app to find all my projects and in-progress punch lists gone. I've been using this app to create and manage my punch lists for the past year and now all the data is gone. Studio Session does not seem to have a functioning punch list feature.

Hi @Andrea Hess,
Please email support@bluebeam.com, and we'll help you get access to offboard any information you need.
While Studio Sessions don’t have a specific Punch List feature, you can still create punch items by adding markups, setting a status, and updating them with comments. You can also generate a Batch Summary report from Revu to keep everything organized.
We’re excited to help you get set up with Studio on our web and mobile apps, and we understand how important it is to have the right tools in the field. We're committed to continuing to add more capabilities to make your work even easier moving forward.
