Links Open a Split Screen

I was thinking it would be a great feature if we could do something like a Shift + Click to have a link automatically open in split screen. We use split-screen a lot to compare pages a lot and it would just be one less step if we could split the screen automatically.

@JEdlund We have the following keyboard shortcuts.

In the example below I did CTRL +2. Is this what you're asking for?

  • I think they are asking for the split to be automatic when using a link. But that does raise a question, if it could be done, which orientation would you get? Would it have to be pre-set or would Shift+click split vertically while Ctrl+click would split horizontally?

As Luke stated above, I was thinking more of something where the link would split the screen. As far as horizontal or vertical, that would be handled in an option, but I understand that may be difficult to do so something like a Shift + Alt + Click to open it one way and another combination would do it the other way.

Ah yes! Honestly, I read that wrong at first. Thank you and my apologies, @JEdlund and @Luke Shiras!

I don't think that's possible right now, so you've added this request in the right spot.

To your point, that would be difficult to do. I just played around with it and changed the Split Vertical Keyboard shortcut to "B" and pressed it at the same time as clicking the hyperlink and it worked. Could be an alternative!
