Seperate Area Messurement

It would be a very useful feature to be able to split area measurements so that two separate measurements can be created from one. This way, I could edit previous measurements without having to delete them entirely and redo them twice. The polygon cut-out function cannot solve this task.

  • While not exactly what you are looking for, the easiest way I can think of to do this would be the following:

-Create an area measurement of the overall area

-select it and paste in same place (Crtl+Shift+V)

-While that pasted element is still selected, adjust the boundaries (tip - holding shift and selecting nodes will delete those nodes for easier boundary adjustment of complex shapes).

-Lastly, you'll have to follow the same step as above to adjust the initial area measurement boundary.

    Edit - Accidental respost…See above

While not exactly what you are looking for, if you create an overall area measurement, then copy and paste in same place (ctrl+shift+v), you can then edit the boundaries of each of your area measurements by dragging the nodes on the boundary (tips if you hold shift and click a node, it will delete). Then you will have to go through the same process for the other area boundary.
