Re: Is it possible to compare and also overlay PDFs?
Hi all,
Just want to update on this discussion. So I try some workarounds, and right now I found a way that I think the best for me.
I simply show the overlaid and compared document side by side. While I probably can combine the PDF, it takes too much effort.
Re: When creating a Batch Summary, can you specify the font used to generate the PDF?
@ElizabethOliver I just took a look and I'm fairly certain that you can't choose a font for the Markup Summaries right now.
I do however think that is a great idea, and I would encourage you to pitch it in the Product Feedback forum where other people can upvote it and maybe talk about why it would be valuable to them. More upvotes means more attention from Bluebeam, means a better chance at getting implemented.
Re: Bullets
Yes we need this. Along with standard "WORD" type editing. It has been brought up many times….

Re: Admin credentials for Revu updates
Hi @andyniel - Thank you for posting in Bluebeam Community!
In order to install or update Bluebeam Revu, you must either be using an administrator account in Windows, or have administrator credentials which can be used for installing software. It is not possible to update Revu if you have neither.
If you are using Revu on an admin profile in Windows, then you can install Revu updates using the in-app update prompt as normal. If you have a standard Windows account, however, you must install updates by running the full Revu installer from the Download Center. You will be automatically prompted to enter administrator credentials when you run the installer.
If your Revu installation is managed by your IT group, contact them for assistance installing Revu updates.
Customer using BeyondTrust management have reported success by adding the BeyondTrust policy for "allow child processes" This will allow users to install the update as a normal user when prompted by Bluebeam.
Re: Set Status in Sessions
@jmccomsey Have you contacted support@bluebeam.com when this has occured in the past? This sounds like something they would love to get their hands on. The ability to get some info from the different user who can/can't access the Statuses and maybe some logs from each user would be super helpful.
If you have the Statuses loaded in the actual PDF ahead of loading it into the Session (and not just in a Profile) and all the users have the same Version (21.5) and the same product tier (example - all on Core or Complete) and all the invited attendees have the same permissions in the Session (all have permission to Markup, etc) then they should all see the same Statuses and be able to set them.
Re: Retain sort order of "Open File from SharePoint Library"
We don't use SharePoint, but would anything here solve your issue?
Create a sorted view
When you create or edit a view, you can specify sorting on one or two columns. You can sort on columns, even if they're not visible in the view. To set up a sort, follow these steps:
- On the menu bar near the top right, select Switch view options > Save view as and enter a name: (The sort you've selected is saved with the view.)
- On the create or edit a view page, scroll down to Sort. In the Sort section, select the First sort by the column drop down and choose a field. This field is one of the many available columns for your list or library, and can be one that is in the view or not.
- Select Show the items in ascending order or Show the items in descending order.
- Scroll to the top or bottom of the page and select OK.
Re: Are there already HVAC Airside Equipment takeoff tools [.btx]
@Kjones We offer a few premade Tool Sets that are available on the Bluebeam Website. There are a handful of mechanical sets available there. We don't make a ton of them, because we make it super easy to create your own… that fit your exact needs. consider ours as a starting point.
Revu Custom Libraries | Bluebeam Technical Support
I would recommend getting comfy with the Snapshot tool in Bluebeam. If you already have plans or a vector PDF with the things that you would like to replicate, you can just Snapshot it, then use Color Processing if you want it to be a different color, and save it to a Tool Chest with a new Subject and you can use it over and over. You can make a whole reusable, shareable Tool Set in just a few minutes this way…. with whatever symbols/items you want.
Also, if you search around online, there are some people out there making custom Tool Sets and sharing them. Some are charging money, some offer some free ones. Check out Troy DeGroot's Resources at U Chapter 2, maybe he shared a free one that has what you need.
Ultimately, just making one that fits your exact needs is the best route and is super easy once you get the hang of Snapshot.
Re: Bluebeam Manual
To go off of what @Angela Aff said…
The first link is more task focused. If you need to accomplish a certain task, it's probably the better resource.
The second link is more feature focused. If you just need to get to know the software and it's ins and outs, it's the better resource.
That said, I don't know of any great Revu 21 User Manual pdfs. There's just so much to cover that you'd be looking at a bloody textbook, and then with each major update, you'd need a new manual or you'd need to do some major edits at the very least. If you can make do with the support sites I'd say those are really probably the best sources of information for general usage. There are great video series' out there as well, like Morning Coffee Revu with ATG, that dive deep into the application and deliver lots of juicy tidbits for streamlining workflows.
