Re: How to attach custom properties to tools in Revu21?
Do you mean that when you apply a markup to a PDF, that same markup has Custom Column data that you can use?
If that's the case, check that your Custom Column information has come through, check the Markup List/Area.
But yes, Custom Column data will show up in the Properties of the markup once it's on the PDF. I am sure it won't show while the markup is still in the ToolChest.
To add, the Markup in the ToolChest only have Subject, Comment and Label display options.
A cool new feature is that Bluebeam has added a Search ToolChest option, so start thinking about naming conventions to speed up your markup process.
Re: Blue Beam Studio , Why cant we add layers to uploaded PDF in a set
Hi fellow Bluebeam User,
To be clear, there are two parts to Studio - Projects and Sessions. I believe that you are referring to Sessions.
Part of the rules for Studio Session is that the PDF cant be edited once its in the Session, having more flexibility is a good feature request, but what can you do today?
Have you used the Batch functions that are in the Complete version? There is a Batch Script that will allow you to add Layers to as many drawings as you need in preparation to load up into a Studio Session.
The way you do this is to create a Script that imports a "Master PDF" that contains ALL the Layers that you require, into the PDFs that you want to load up into Studio Session, then delete the Master PDF, leaving your Layers behind.
Here is the Script:
InsertPages(0,"{add in your Master PDF location here}\Master_PDF.pdf", false, false, false, true, false)
PageDelete(1)
The one true value is (please check) the option (boolean) to import the Master PDFs Layers into your PDFs that are to be uploaded into Studio Sessions.
Let me know how you go.
Re: OCR not making text searchable
I see. Well, CAD has it's SHX fonts that are different than true-type fonts. True-type fonts are the ones that naturally become searchable text in Bluebeam, but if the font used in the CAD program was an SHX font, they would need to export it as searchable text. I don't really get it, but those fonts seem to give OCR a hard time sometimes. As for the "photoshop" elements, that's why I would not skip vector pages, ensure it is detecting text in pictures and drawings, and enable page chunking at 1, so it would process each page one at a time. I think the detect vertical text option would be up to you, but I don't see any harm in asking the AI to look for it just in case it gets the orientation wrong.
Here's the setting I would expect to best handle these documents. I hope it helps…
Re: Change uploaded PDF from pending
I think pending means there is an update that needs to by synced. Are you working online? Has the PDF been checked in so that all changes sync up?
Re: Pasting Snapshots Elsewhere
I don't know if this helps, but I found what looks to be a helpful article about Teams Limitations that may or may not help troubleshoot this issue.
Below is a screenshot of a table I saw about half-way through the article. I wonder if your snapshot could be too large once Teams rasterizes the image you are trying to send.
Also, I copied a drawing that is 42x30 and it pasted just fine in both Outlook and Teams. I checked with the all-mighty Google AI and it said a troubleshooting step may be to make sure your software is updated. I did the things and simply didn't have the issues you described, but I hope something here helps.
Re: 🗓️ June 2025 Challenge - Revu Remix!
I also use BB to clean up sheet music. I add hyperlinks at repeats, coda, etc to jump quickly to different sections, add chords. Makes it easy to play off a tablet and navigate around.
Re: Linear and Count Takeoffs with volume calculation
This would be very useful for sewer/water project takeoffs, since it's not uncommon for plans to omit widths of trenches and features along transitions, such as t-cuts
Re: How can I get my Tool Set that is stuck as (Offline) to come out of this Read-Only state?
Well there you go. Love it when I overthink things like this. Glad it worked out!
Re: How can I get my Tool Set that is stuck as (Offline) to come out of this Read-Only state?
I right-clicked on the file and clicked Properties. Under Attributes, the Read-only checkbox had actually been checked!
