Which AI Tools do you support? When will you add more?

Our intention is for users to have the flexibility to choose which AI best fits their workflow.

We currently support:

Anthropic Claude
Anything LLM
- more DIY
- useful if a company brings its own model (e.g., via AWS Bedrock)
GitHub Copilot CLI
- more developer-oriented
- Microsoft product

These AI tools use industry-standard Model Context Protocol (MCP) technology.

What this actually means:

This means Max is designed to connect with other leading AI models as soon as they enable and provide support for local MCP servers over STDIO.

Important distinction:

Regular AI tools like ChatGPT can already read a PDF and summarize it, but without MCP, the result is stuck in the prompt window.

With an MCP-connected LLM, the AI can read the PDF, analyze the content and act on the file in Revu.

The LLM isn’t just “answering” — it’s effectively orchestrating actions in Revu.

Are my company's and client data safe using AI? Where is this data stored?

Yes, your data is safe with Max.

Bluebeam has not changed how we handle data.

The Max features are powered by different types of AI, so specific details vary by feature. Check out our AI Transparency page for details.

Storing data

When using the MCP server, the PDF and data stay wherever you store it. Read Claude’s or other AI Agents Terms and Conditions.

Do you have a list of supported MCP commands/AI prompts?

Yes!

We are actively building an AI Prompts Library here in the online Bluebeam Community where users can explore and submit prompts.

Additionally, we recommend checking out the Revu and MCP resource page as it has tons of information on prompts, best practices, tokens, tips for saving tokens and token-saving prompts!

Note: You must register and log in to the online community to view the AI Prompts Library.

What's the typical token usage for prompts?

Token usage varies based on your prompts.

We recommend leveraging the following resources:

Important: Bluebeam can't control the number of tokens used in a conversation, refresh your token budget, or let you know how many tokens you have left.

How do I connect Bluebeam Revu to AI models?

To use Revu and the AI model together, you must do the following:

Sign up for the AI model (if required)
Download the AI model desktop application (if available).
Configure Revu and the AI model to allow the MCP connection.

Can Revu connected to AI (via MCP) support quantity takeoffs? Can it count objects for quantity takeoffs?

MCP in 21.10 can create count markups, but it doesn’t truly identify underlying objects.

We are working on this longer term.

If there is text involved, Claude can count it.
