Option when copying text from pdf to not include paragraph returns at end of each line

Please provide an option when copying text from pdf to not include paragraph returns at end of each line into the copied text. This is ridiculous, everyone knows just because the text ends at the right side of the page that does not mean there should be a hard return - the text just continues on the next line. Removing all the hard returns manually from copied text is a major waste of time. Or better yet, add a feature to select an area and process it to rich text format when copying to the clipboard.

I just tried it and @Josh Gebelein, you're right. See screenshots below of text I copied straight from a drawing in Bluebeam and pasted into Word. It's a mess - hard returns everywhere. The text should just flow normally but instead it's broken up line by line exactly how it laid out on the PDF page.

Why does it do that? I hope Bluebeam can look at this and fix it.

Update: I did some testing to see if this was a CAD thing baked into the text. Took the text from the screenshots above, pasted it into Word and cleaned up all the line breaks that were splitting the paragraph. Then I pasted that cleaned text into a text box on a new Bluebeam doc, flattened it, copied it, and pasted it into a new Word doc.

Same result. Hard returns everywhere, just like the original.

So this is definitely a Bluebeam issue, not something coming from the CAD file. Hopefully this gets fixed in a future release.

It might also be a Word issue. Try pasting it into another program like Notepad and see if it does the same thing.

Not being a programmer I don't have any idea what it takes to get the software to recognize that these aren't hard returns. Unfortunately "everyone" doesn't include computers. 😎

Might be an option to use AI to remove the hard returns with a relatively simple prompt rather than deleting them all manually.

I do a lot of copying and pasting from a variety of sources and it not just a Bluebeam thing. I think it is with any PDF and regardless of whether you used the app's "Print to PDF" or "Save to PDF". However, I don't know how to fix it with my limited knowledge

BB already has a convert/export to Word function, so all they need to do is run this function or some lite smart OCR on a selected area. You're right that dumb copy-paste from a pdf will embed newlines after each line which is not good.
