Splitting a large area markup with a single line instead of using cutout

Hi,

How can we split a complicated Area markup in to multiple small areas by simply drawing a line. I dont want to use the cutout option. but i want a simple option to split a huge area markup to divide in to multiple areas simple by drawing a line instead of newly creating an area again?

Appreciate if you can answer this. it will be huge help.

Hey Gary, hope you are well doing

Yes, there’s a simple workaround I use when I don’t want to use Cutout.

I would duplicate the original Area markup, then edit the boundary points of each copy to create the smaller areas I need. This keeps the same measurement properties and is much quicker than creating every area from scratch.

That said, I still think a dedicated “Split Area by Line” function would be a great feature draw one line across the area and instantly divide it into two separate area markups. That would make takeoffs much faster.
